艺评家何朝波《邓代昆草书作品蠡评》中说:分间布白,四面停匀,八边具备”是古人予我等之辈的篇章营构法则。邓代昆先生于此自有他的心解与独特体悟,从作品中可看出,他的章法形式变化很大,空间感很强,时间感很明显,兼之先生妙于篆刻,巧于用印,故能使作品整体面貌别有一番情致在心头。在篇章营构上,他发挥分间布白,空间理论:“大胆伸缩,敢于留白,破践空间。”随其行势相承起伏,将作品平面重新“四面停匀,八边具备”。因而,他的这种“分间布白,更多的是“感觉形态”上的停匀与具备,这似乎更接近艺术的“书,心画也”的艺术本质与功能。邓氏此件《李白古风诗六首行草长卷》似可作如是观。
